The Teamsters Ride

TRAVEL BACK A LIFETIME ON THE WESTERN RIVERINA RED SOIL TRACKS

Australian Saddle Safaris is proud to present " The Teamsters Ride" as a part of our Riverina ride series,

where horses are ridden alongside the wagon teams on this annual trek into the past.

A UNIQUE SLICE OF BUSH HERITAGE

Experience the thrill of riding alongside a wagon and create unforgettable memories. The sound of the chains, the creaking wheels, and guidance from expert horsemen will give you a sense of freedom and camaraderie like no other.

Each day, we will have breakfast and a cuppa, help harness up the teams and saddle up ready for the day. Ride alongside the drivers and have a chat before stopping for lunch and boiling a billy. Continue on to our camp for a hearty fireside meal and social evening before retiring to your tent under the stars.

Ultimately, the simple life of an adventurer travelling the roads alongside other like-minded individuals is an experience that is both fulfilling and unforgettable.

THE GOOD OLD DAYS FESTIVAL

This ride finishes 2 days before the Barellan Heavy Horse Festival (5th & 6th October)

Stay a while longer and enjoy a weekend of working teams of Clydesdales, Australian Draft Horses, camels, bullocks, donkeys, mules and goats. There is poetry to enjoy, scones straight out of the oven, camel races and trade stalls to peruse.

Saturday night includes a camp oven dinner (prebook with festival organisers) and a live band. A bush breakfast can be purchased Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The Furphy Festival is also a highlight of the weekend, with demonstrations of rope making, blade shearing, hand milking cows and churning it into butter. The Riverina Lighthorse Association also re-enact a drill of the Lighthorse Regiments.

For more information, please visit the Barellan Good Old Days Festival page.

Tented accommodation can be arranged over this weekend. Please let us know!
